![]() Sure you can enable money (though I'm not sure if you can specify the amount), and natural disasters (i.e. They don't have enough options to turn Sandbox mode into a real free-play mode. Expeditions on the other hand are what allow you to get more and new dinosaurs, as they dig up and bring back fossils that you use to complete the dinosaurs' genomes. ![]() Research is pretty self explanatory, and works as it does in many games. Also the importance of research and expeditions is that they allow you to unlock new buildings, upgrades and dinosaurs. Oh I almost forgot, if you are familiar with the old game JPOG, the JWE games work alot like that. ![]() To be honest after what u said im more inclined to try JWE 1 or planet zoo -.- how could they make a management game with no freeplay? Note that ive never played any JWE games so i dont know if this is a big thing or not. Ive done some more research and you can actually costumize the sandbox mode quite alot and create a challenging run right? Like starting with low money etc etc, so the only thing thats missing is research and expeditions? Semantics is everything! I dont mind a correction, i just couldnt think of a way to call it xD The best chance of requests of a feature like this being seen and added is if there are a lot of requests for it on Frontier's forums, then they will see how much demand there is for it. Frontier don't pay attention to the Steam forums, their own moderators attest to that. So JWE's challenge mode is close to being a freeplay mode, but just quite isn't, as it has additional mechanic to artificially increase the challenge.Īlso if you really want a freeplay mode, you should go make a thread requesting it on Frontier's forums or contribute to an already existing one (like this one ). The problem with challenge mode however, is that even though it does start you off with virtually nothing, only a few basic buildings and dinosaurs, you do have research and digging up/complete the genomes of other dinosaurs, it does have a mechanic in which some of your money is periodically taken away from you in increasing amounts to provide extra challenge. It seems minor but referring to something with the right term, especially in situations like this, will help make sure that everyone is on the same page.Īnyway, JWE 1 doesn't truly have a mode like that either, though it has something that's kind of similar, the Challenge mode. Originally posted by SBA77:Well, I know this is just semantics but a mode like that is usually called a freeplay mode. The Challenge mode does return in the JWE 2, but is now substantial different as it now has it's own restrictive maps, has objectives that you have to complete, and restricts the dinosaurs and research that are available in each challenge.Īlso if you really want a freeplay mode, you should go make a thread requesting it on Frontier's forums or contribute to an already existing one (like this one ).
